Coos Bay Schools is developing five-year goals for Fine and Performing Arts and needs your input. Please take a moment to fill out the brief survey at the link and help us create a plan that will meet the needs of our students and community. If you do not have access to a computer, you can fill out paper copies of the survey at the school office.

Each home belongs to a school attendance zone based on their address. Sometimes there are circumstances where parents wish their child to attend a school in a different zone.
For 2015-16 school year, Coos Bay School District is asking parents/guardians who wish their student to attend a school in a different zone to please fill out the Intra-District transfer form by April 1st.
Usually the deadline is in August, before school starts. This year, the district needs the information sooner. Having it will allow the district to plan for class sizes, curriculum, etc. before the school year begins.
Click here for the form or pick up a copy at the school office.
It’s important to turn in the form by April 1st. We appreciate your help in meeting this deadline.
Below is the order in which Coos Bay Schools will notify parents, staff and the community in case of school closure or other emergency.
Auto Caller – Parents/guardians of students and staff receive a phone call or email with the message. Please make sure your contact information is up to date. Your school’s office will be happy to assist you. A recording of the message will also be available at 541-267-6149.
Flash Alert – Emails and/or texts of the message are sent to subscribers. Go to News Flash for more information on how to subscribe.

In 2014-2015 we will be keeping our model of early release Fridays for our educators to do their PLC (Professional Learning Community) work. It has been successful and helped to improve our student learning. Each Friday staff gather to review student
performance, plan for common lessons and assessments, and provide for the learning of every child so that no one falls behind and those who are advanced get the support they need.
2014-15 Student Calendar
The district office would like to give you an update on the automated attendance service. It has been activated and is programmed to call the primary number listed for the student whenever they have an unexcused absence. If you know your student is going to be absent, please contact the office before 8:30 AM to excuse the absence or send a note with your student when they return to school. If you call after the cut-off time, you will still receive the automated call.
If you would like to change the number that is called or remove a number, please contact the school office and they will be happy to make the change for you.
